kicks off free instructional workshop

Info: Johnny Wu MDI kicks off the Ohio Independent Film Festival with free, instructional website. In celebration of the 2001 Ohio Independent Film Festival and Market, Media Design Imaging presents the 2nd Annual FREE Director of Photography workshop. This year's event will peer into the working and creating habits of local DP's Robert Banks, Naomi Hollander, and John Turk as they discuss the basics of lighting and soooting a scene on 16mm film. The director of photogaphy, also known as the cinematographer, controls the scene's mood with lighting, decides which film stock to use, and works with the set electricians and grips to ensure the camera accurately captures the director's vision. The all-day, free workshop will take place on Saturday, NOvember 3rd at Cleveland State Universtiy's Communication Department production studio, room G31. The Ohio Independent Film Festival and Market runs November 6 - 11 and will include exhibition of the footage shot by all three DP's.
