Digital Business Card - Your doorway to success

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (February 08, 2000 - CLEVELAND, OHIO) Media Design Imaging, Inc. emerged in 1998 as a photography business, and has since expanded into a full-service media production firm. Their Digital Business Card, an exciting new offering, packs tons of data into a mini-cd the shape and size of a standard business card. "The shape CD concept was around since 1997, it was only used by national corporations as a marketing tool. Microsoft, Budweiser, Boeing, and many others used it to promote their products and services." says Greg Petusky, MDI's co-founder. "Now that media and hardware prices have dropped, it's easier to assemble a creative team to get these out for a lot less expense."

Users can insert these cards into their desktop PCs and they will see an interactive presentation that includes sound, video and graphics. Up to 50 megabytes of data can be stored on these cards, roughly equivalent to 90,000 pages of text and pictures, 30,000 webpages, 20 minutes of compressed video, 20 minutes of audio, and much more. Companies may include inventory lists, link on-screen buttons to websites, present film trailers, or cut digital press kits. The Digital Business Card is a rich marketing tool that stands out from other options.

A content example can be seen on MDI's website at http://www.mdifilm.com/mdicd (Macromedia's shockwave is required.).

Media Design Imaging can program, cut, print, design, and duplicate the entire product from start to finish. "We consider ourselves a media house, not an advertising agency, but a resource for media content creation." Petusky said. "With computers, all media work together." As a case in point, Media Design Imaging, Inc. recently finished a national commercial for an Internet company, and the finished spot will be compressed to be part of a Digital Business Card.

In addition to regularly having plenty of work with referred clients, the members of Media Design Imaging continue to pursue their artistic dreams: being independent filmmakers. Co-founder Greg Petusky's music video, written and produced entirely by himself, was chosen to be premiered at Cinema Lounge, an Internet-based Film Festival sponsored by MediaOne Group and Druid Media. Production Manager Shawn Wickens is planning the creation of a cartoon (a small example can be seen at Http://www.mdifilm.com).

Media Design Imaging is currently working on the following projects:
• Twisted, MDI's first feature film based on a true story of an Asian boy's skill in martial arts and his forays into a world filled with political intrigue.
• Now in post production. An American History: Resettlement of Japanese Americans in Greater Cleveland, a documentary of Japanese Americans in Cleveland during WWII. Johnny Wu, VP and co-founder of MDI, received 2 grants from local and national Japanese American Citizens Leagues. Now in post production stage. Final completion date: 02/14/2000
• The Coin, an Internet project with over 36 filmmakers participating. Each filmmaker will produce up to 10 minutes of film or video that contains a marked silver dollar - a narrative device that ties all the stories together. (http://www.indieclub.com). Media Design Imaging will also be hosting video streaming for this site. Final completion date: 02/01/2000.
• A Lighting Workshop, open to all interested in better lighting for their film or video. This free 3-hour workshop will be held in Winter 2000. (Now overbooked)
• The Rapture, MDI's 2nd feature film, a biblical horror film slated for production in 2002 or 2003, will test MDI's abilities in creating special effects with desktop computers, with an emphasis on bluescreen and shape morphing techniques.
There is enough for Media Design Imaging to keep themselves busy, but within their busy schedule, they will always be happy to support the local film industry.
