Start the Year of the Dragon in 2012 with some cool Chinese cultural customs:
– On Chinese New Year’s Eve (Jan 22), have fresh big round nice Apple or Orange right next or under your children’s pillow, so they wake up on Chinese New Year with a sense of great freshness and excitement.
– On Chinese New Year (Jan 23), wear all new clothes, this is to welcome New Year with New clothes.
– On Chinese New Year (Jan 23), have a nice feast dinner with the entire family, just like Thanksgiving, to welcome a better future in 2012.
– Parents on Chinese New Year provides a red envelop to children or adults who are single. The red envelop would contain a small financial gifts, these would to provide luck and protect the recipient from evil.
On New Year, give fruit baskets to friends or families, NEVER give them clock or watches.
