An American History

Cleveland - Subsequent to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, over 110,000 Japanese - Americans living in the West Coast were interned from one to four years without due process of law. Many of these Americans are now living in Cleveland.

Six of their stories are recounted in An American History: Resettlement of Japanese Americans in Greater Cleveland, a 60-minute video documentary directed by Johnny Wu, which premiered at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in April.

Greg Petusky was director of photography and composed the original score. Wu is also vice president and co-founder of Media Design Imaging, Inc., which produced the film with the national and Cleveland chapters of the Japanese American Citizens League.
