Reel Report

And if you want to hear Mr. Reel Report's heartfelt apologies for all the error in this week's column, live and in person, he's scheduled to appear at the newly-opened Media Design Imgaging studio at 2044 Euclid Avenue (right across from Cleveland State University) on Saturday night at 7 pm. There, filmmakers Johnny Wu and Greg Petusky will thow an elaborate open house, showcasing their soundstage/still photo facilities and celebrating indie filmmaking in general. The partners have lined up a series of guest speakers from the Northeast Ohio independent filmmaking scene: Bernadette Gillota and Annetta Marion of the Ohio Independent Film Festival, Mara Stifter of the Cleveland Film Society, Rick Fike of the Madison-based Stunt Predators, music producer Pierre Boswell, talent agent Miguel de Jesus and more.

An undeniable highlight will be exclusive behind-the-scene footage of the making of "Twisted," MDI's 16mm feature drama, currently shooting around Cleveland and Lorain County, about an Asian diplomat's martial-artist son and his maturity crisis, set against a background of international skull-duggery. For more information on Twisted and MDI, check out their webstie at www.mdifilm.com.
