And if you want to hear Mr. Reel Report's heartfelt apologies for all the error in this week's column, live and in person, he's scheduled to appear at the newly-opened Media Design Imgaging studio at 2044 Euclid Avenue (right across from Cleveland State University) on Saturday night at 7 pm. There, filmmakers Johnny Wu and Greg Petusky will thow an elaborate open house, showcasing their soundstage/still photo facilities and celebrating indie filmmaking in general. The partners have lined up a series of guest speakers from the Northeast Ohio independent filmmaking scene: Bernadette Gillota and Annetta Marion of the Ohio Independent Film Festival, Mara Stifter of the Cleveland Film Society, Rick Fike of the Madison-based Stunt Predators, music producer Pierre Boswell, talent agent Miguel de Jesus and more. An undeniable highlight will be exclusive behind-the-scene footage of the making of "Twisted," MDI's 16mm feature drama, currently shooting around Cleveland and Lorain County, about an Asian diplomat's martial-artist son and his maturity crisis, set against a background of international skull-duggery. For more information on Twisted and MDI, check out their webstie at www.mdifilm.com. |
